Popcorn

Ingredients
  • 100 ml. of sunflower oil
  • 200 gr. of Maizalito Popcorn Kernels
  • 125 gr. of Butter
  • 375 gr. of sugar
  • 300 ml. of water
  • 25 gr. of sugar with vanilla
  • 25 gr. of baking soda
  • Colorant (red, green, yellow, blue, etc.)

Popcorn

Preparation

1. Heat the oil over medium heat in a think, heavy-bottomed pot. When the oil starts to heat, add the popcorn, and cover the pan well.
2. Leave the heat on for a few minutes while the kernels pop until they are popping 3 to 4 seconds apart.
3. In a pan, mix the water with the butter, sugar, and vanilla over medium heat, stirring until the ingredients are well dissolved and begin to brown. Add the colorant and baking soda and continue stirring. If you’re using different colorant colors, separate the mixture into different bowls.
4. Layout the popcorn on a tray lined with non-stick paper (if using different colors, use different trays).
5. Pour the caramel over the popcorn, making sure it is well covered. Let it cool and serve.
